When making quick adjustments to your document, you may want to undo or redo the most recent action performed. You can undo and redo up to 10,000 actions in Foxit PDF Editor.

When creating or optimizing PDFs, you can choose which PDF version to use by selecting a compatibility option (a version from 1.3 to 1.7). The latest version includes all the newest features and functionality. Generally, it’s recommended to use the most recent version (in this case 1.7) unless you are required to use a backward compatibility. Your choice does not affect the functionality in the generated PDFs if they are processed in Foxit PDF Editor, which is designed based on version 1.7 and supports all the functionality of each version.

When you open a PDF file that conforms to PDF/A, PDF/E, PDF/X, or PDF/UA standard, the Standards panel icon automatically appears on the left side of the navigation pane, giving you a quick way to view the standards information of the PDF.

  1. Click Convert > Preflight.
  2. Click the Profile tab in the Preflight dialog box. 
  3. Choose the profile you need from the compliance profile groups, and click Analyze and fix.
  4. Specify the filename and location for the output file and click Save in the pop-up Save As dialog box.

  1. Click Convert > Preflight.
  2. Click the Standards tab in the Preflight dialog box. 
  3. Select the standard you want to convert to, and click Continue.
  4. Select a desired version of the selected standard, and click Continue. (Or click Back to return to the previous step.)
  5. Select other options as appropriate, and click Save as….

After running a preflight inspection, you can view the preflight results and create reports in a PDF, .xml, .txt, or .html file in the Results tab in the Preflight dialog box.

  1. Open the document you want to inspect, and click Convert > Preflight.
  2. In the Preflight dialog box, select a preflight profile/check/fixup and other options in the Profiles tab as needed.

When you click the Preflight command, the Preflight dialog box pops up, allowing you to run a preflight inspection, fix errors in documents, view preflight results, and more. There are three tabs in the Preflight dialog box: Profiles, Results, and Standards.
