This manual covers all features available at ai.foxit.com and the AI Assistant embedded in the Foxit PDF Editor across Windows, macOS, mobile, and the cloud (hereafter referred to as the “Foxit PDF Editor”). For simplicity, both ai.foxit.com and the AI Assistant within the Foxit PDF Editor will be collectively referred to as “Foxit AI Assistant”.

You are allowed to edit component files after opening them in their native applications. If the component file is a non-PDF file and you want to save the changes after editing it, you can save it as a new file outside the portfolio.

You can customize and modify component files and folders in the portfolio using the secondary toolbar above the component files list in the Details or Layout view, the right-click menu of a component file, and the Portfolio Properties dialog box as needed.

You can use Foxit PDF Editor to quickly create a blank PDF portfolio or a new PDF portfolio from any file. After creation, you can also add more files/folders, create folders, delete files/folders and more within the PDF portfolio.

You can configure scan parameters or options and save as presets. When you are ready to scan you can choose one of them with just one click. To scan a paper document to PDF using a configured preset, from File > Create > From Scanner > the FromScanner button, or Convert > From Scanner, or Home > Scan, select a preset to scan documents.

Foxit PDF Editor adds a new printer “Print to Evernote” after installation. This feature enables the user to send the PDF file as an attachment to Evernote, as well as the option to create a PDF the same as Foxit’s PDF printer does.

To create a PDF using Print to Evernote, see below:

1. Install the Evernote application and sign in to an Evernote account.

2. Open the file you want to convert to PDF, and choose File > Print > Print to Evernote.

Foxit PDF Editor allows you to convert webpages to PDFs using the Foxit Convert commands in the toolbar within Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. You can convert the current webpage to a new PDF or append to an existing PDF, or send the new PDF as an email attachment with one click. 

Foxit PDF Editor Printer works like a standard printer, so you can use it to print your files from any windows applications (such as Notepad and Outlook Express) as if you would print to a real printer.
