This tab displays basic information about the document, such as its file path, page size, and total number of pages. Clicking the file path opens its containing folder; if the file was opened from a cloud service, this opens the temporary local folder where it’s cached. The person who created the document in the source application may have set the title, subject, author, and keywords. You can easily edit the document information within the PDF document, a useful way for searching and indexing files.
You can add custom document properties (such as comments and the company name) by clicking Custom. In the pop-up Custom Properties dialog box, input the property name and the value, and then click Add to add a custom property. To change the value of a property, select it and update the value, and then click Change. To change the name of a custom property, you need to delete the property and create a new custom property. To delete a property, select it and click Delete.
You can also save or import document metadata in XMP format, making it easier to share metadata among different documents. Select Additional Metadata, click Append to add previously saved information (stored in an XMP file) to the current metadata, or click Save to save the document metadata.
