1. Restore last session when application starts: Determines whether documents start automatically with the last viewed session when you launch Foxit PDF Editor. If this option is selected, Foxit PDF Editor will automatically record the opened document and its viewing information (including page number, zoom ratio, etc.) every three minutes or at the time when you close the application, and display the last viewed session recorded when you launch Foxit PDF Editor next time (even when you relaunch Foxit PDF Editor after an unexpected quit). 

The General Preferences setting provides options on Basic Tools, Tab Bar, Status Bar, and Application Startup, etc.

1. Select to show Scroll bar, Status bar, Tab bar (ribbon tabs), or Navigation Panels in Full Screen mode.

2. Show Exit button – Check or uncheck this option to show or hide Exit button in Full Screen mode.

3. One page at a time – Displays a single page at a time in Full Screen mode.

The form tab enables you to set the preferences of the interactive form display.

• Automatically calculate field values: Specify whether to automatically perform all field calculations right after users input the entries. This option is checked by default. The setting for the option only applies to your current session, and it will revert to the default setting after the application is restarted.  

This option allows you to set the default PDF Viewer.

• Make Foxit PDF Editor the default PDF viewer:

  • Advanced

    1. Include browser when setting default PDF viewer: check this option to set Foxit PDF Editor as the default PDF viewer in browser.

• Show changed text in: Select a color the modified text will appear in when using the Edit Text command.

• Alert when there’s no editable text when using ‘Edit Text’ tool: An alert will pop up notifying the user when there’s no editable text while using the Edit Text command. By default, this option is selected. 

• SharePoint

  Choose a method to open a document when you try to open a document on SharePoint. You can choose just to open the document, check it out when opening, or ask you when opening a document.

The Document of the Preferences dialog provides several ways to browse PDF documents.

Create PDF feature allows users to set the Page Size of PDF to be created.

• Viewing Comments

1. Font and Font Size: Specifies the default font and size for text in the comment pop-up notes. These settings will take effect after you restart Foxit PDF Editor.
2. Pop-up opacity: Sets the opacity of pop-up notes for annotation commands.
3. Print notes and pop-ups: Specify whether or not to print sticky notes and pop-up notes associated with comments in PDF as they appear on the page.
