By Cynthia, 6 December, 2025

To save a checked-out PDF document, you can choose to replace the original document in the eDOCS DM, or save it as a new version, a new sub-version, or a new document.

  1. After modification, go to File > Save As, click the eDOCS DM item listed under the Save As menu and then click Save As. Or click Share > eDOCS DM > Save As > Save As…
  2. In the Save As dialog box:
  • Choose New Version/ New Sub-version/ New Document: the modified document will be saved as a new version/sub-version/document, leaving the original document unchanged.
  • Choose Replace Original: the modified document will overwrite the original document in eDOCS DM.

You can save a local PDF document as a new document or a new version to the eDOCS DM. Save the changes you made in the document and then do the following:

  • To save as a new document, go to File > Save As, click the eDOCS DM item listed under the Save As menu and then click Save As. Or click Share > eDOCS DM > Save As > Save As…. Then type the document information as needed and click Save.
  • To save as a new version or sub-version, click Share > eDOCS DM > Save As > Save As DM Version. Select a document in eDOCS DM and save as a new version or sub-version of the document.
  • To add a password protection when saving a document, click Share > eDOCS DM > Save As > Save with Options, and save the document to the eDOCS DM.
