Foxit PDF Editor allows users to revise the original Word document by exporting the comments from the PDF if the PDF is a tagged PDF and is created from a Microsoft Word document using Foxit PDF Editor add-on.
- Do one of the following:
- In Foxit PDF Editor, open the commented PDF file, and then choose Comment > Export > Export to Word.
- In Microsoft Word, open the original document, and then choose Foxit PDF > Foxit PDF Editor Comment > Import Comments from Foxit PDF Editor.
- Read the instruction and click OK to continue. If you do not want to see the dialog box the next time you try to export comments, check Don’t show again option in the dialog box.
- In the Import Comments from Foxit PDF Editor dialog box, corresponding PDF and Word documents will be selected by default, and you can also click Browse to select the PDF file which contains comments and the Word document which you want to import comments, if necessary. Then select one of the following options, and click Continue.
- All Comments: Import all comments to the Word document.
- All Comments with Checkmarks: Import only comments marked with check marks to the Word document.
- Text Edits Only: Insertions, Deletions and Replaces: Import only comments which are added using the Insert Text, Strikeout, or Replace Text comment tools.
- When the comments are imported to Word successfully, a dialog box will pop up showing you the import summary. If the imported comments include text edits, you can click Integrate Text Edit in the dialog box to review each text edit individually.
- While reviewing text edits, review or modify the text in the New Text box, and then select the following option:
- Apply: Apply the text edit in the Word document and delete the comment markups.
- Next: Skip to the next text edit. If you want to skip to the next text edit automatically after applying changes, check the Automatically go to next option.
- Apply All Remaining: Apply all remaining text edits in the Word document and delete the comment markups.
- Undo Last: undo the last text edit, including the manual changes you made in the New Text box.
- Stop: Stop text integration. If you stop text integration, you can still continue to integrate text edits by clicking Continue in the Text Integration Summary dialog box, or clicking Foxit PDF > Foxit PDF Editor Comment > Continue Integration Process in Word document.
- When the text integration completes, a dialog box will pop up showing you the text integration summary. Click OK to the view import results in the Word document.
- Comments other than text edits will be imported and shown as comment markups in the Word document. Check the comment markups and modify the Word document as needed.
- Upon completion, click Foxit PDF > Foxit PDF Editor Comment > Delete All Comments in Document to delete the comment markups.
