- Open the Pages panel and click the
icon at the top of the panel. - In the Create Page Labels dialog box, specify the page range to which you want to apply page labels.
- Under Option, choose the automatic labeling method.
- Page Region: Useful when bookmarks are unavailable or when drawings follow a standardized layout.
- Bookmarks: Uses existing bookmarks to generate labels.
- (Optional) If you selected Page Region, click the Select Region button to define one or more regions:
1) A crosshair cursor appears. Drag to draw a box around the area containing the sheet number, title, or other identifying text.
2) A sub-dialog appears showing your selection. Click the Add button to define additional regions, for example, one for the drawing number and another for the drawing title. You can also remove a selected region if it is not needed.
3) The defined regions are assembled into a label pattern (e.g., [Drawing Number] [Drawing Title]) and a preview shows how labels will appear based on your selections.
4) Click OK to complete region defining.
After regions are defined, the original Select Region button changes to Edit. Click Edit if you need to modify the defined regions.
Click OK to confirm the settings and start generating labels.
Foxit PDF Editor applies the new labels to all selected pages. Labels immediately appear beneath each page thumbnail in the Pages panel.
- (Optional) You can manually edit page labels if only a few pages require adjustment. To edit a page label, right-click the associated page thumbnail in the Pages panel and choose Rename Page Label from the context menu, or directly double-click the page label to make changes.
