You can create custom stamps and dynamic stamps.
Creating a Custom Stamp
- Choose Comment > Custom Stamp > Create Custom Stamp.
- In the Create Custom Stamp dialog box, click Browse… and choose an image file or a PDF file. If the selected file contains multiple pages, you can drag the scroll bar to select a page.
- For Category, type a new category name or choose an existing category from the drop-down list, name the stamp, and then click OK.
Note: If the stamp you choose is an image file, you can adjust the opacity of the image via dragging the scrollbar as needed. By default, Foxit PDF Editor will create transparent stamps from images with a white background.
You can also create a stamp from the clipboard. Please do the following:
- Copy the image to the clipboard.
- Choose Comment > Custom Stamp > Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool, the cursor will be changed into a rectangle.
- Click on the desired place and you’re done.
Create a Custom Dynamic Stamp
You can create a Custom Dynamic Stamp to add text, author name and date time on stamps. Please do the following:
- Choose Comment > Custom Stamp > Create Custom Dynamic Stamp….
- In the Create Custom Dynamic Stamp dialog box, choose one stamp template from the left list. (Or, click Create your stamp template under the list to create your own stamp template from an image file in the pop-up dialog box, name the template, and click OK.)
- Choose an existing category from the drop-down list or name a new one, then name the dynamic stamp.
- Specify Font, Font Size and Font Color. You can drag the Stamp Size slider to change stamp size when Font Size is set as Auto.
- From the Stamp Text option, please do the following:
- Type the text that you want to show on the stamp in the Stamp Text field directly.
- Choose <author name>, <date and time>, <date>, or <author name, date and time> to add current user, date, and time of your system to the stamp. Please note that the date format shown in the stamp is the same as that you set in your system. When you add the stamp text with <date and time> or <date>, Foxit PDF Editor will read the date format from your system and apply in on the stamp text you added.
- Click <Custom values when stamp is added> to create custom dynamic stamp with custom values which invoke a prompt window for users to input information while adding a stamp in a PDF file. If you select this option, define the Field Name and Example in the pop-up window, and click OK to add it to the custom dynamic stamp. If you choose this option, it is recommended to set Font Size as Auto so that the custom values you added in the stamp will be adjusted automatically to adapt to your stamp field. After adding the value, you can also drag the Stamp Size slider to adjust its size, if necessary.
- You can instantly adjust the added content to fit your needs when you preview current stamp on the right top preview pane.
- Click OK.
Creating a Sequential Stamp
Foxit PDF Editor allows you to create a sequential stamp that automatically updates with sequential numbers or letters each time a sequential stamp is applied. This feature streamlines labeling for healthcare, legal, and version-control workflows. To create a sequential stamp, follow these steps:
- Choose Comment > Custom Stamp > Create Sequential Stamp.
- In the Create Sequential Stamp dialog box, set the stamp design in the Appearance box on the left.
- From the Category drop-down list, select an existing category (if you have previously created one) or enter a new category name. Then, name the sequential stamp.
- Customize the design, including the title, style, and prefix, as well as the numbering or text to be displayed on the stamp. For numbering/text, you can choose one of the following options:
- Auto Incrementing: Adds a number or letter to the stamp. Set the starting number or letter as needed. The value will automatically increase each time the stamp is placed on the document.
- Manual Entry: Prompts a separate JavaScript window each time you place a stamp, allowing you to enter custom content that will be displayed on the stamp.
- File Name: Inserts the filename of the document onto the stamp each time it is placed.
- Specify the Font Color for the text displayed on the stamp.
- Preview the stamp in the Preview box on the right side of the dialog box. You can instantly adjust the appearance settings to fit your needs.
- Click OK.
