From the 3D toolbar (or after right-clicking the 3D model and choosing View Options), choose an option as appropriate to modify the display settings for a 3D model.
Use Orthographic/Perspective Projection
Click the Use Orthographic/Perspective Projection icon on the 3D toolbar to toggle between displaying perspective and orthographic projection of the 3D model.
Model Render Mode
Click the Model Render Mode icon on the 3D toolbar and choose a desired mode from the drop-down list for the appearance of the 3D shape.
Enable Extra Lighting
Click the Enable Extra Lighting icon on the 3D toolbar and choose a desired lighting effect from the drop-down list.
Background Color
Click the Background Color icon on the 3D toolbar and choose a desired color from the color picker for the space surrounding the 3D content.
Toggle Cross Section
Click the Toggle Cross Section icon on the 3D toolbar and choose Show/Hide Cross Section to show or hide the cross-sections of objects. The Cross Section Properties option allows you to define the cross-section properties listed as follows.
- Enable Cross Section: Check this option to show the cross-sections of objects, and make other cross-section properties available.
- Alignment: Determine the axis along which the cross-section is aligned.
- Show Intersections: Specify whether to add a colored outline (Red by default) to indicate where the cutting plane slices the 3D model. You can click the color palette to change the outline color.
- Show Cutting Plane: Specify whether to display the two-dimensional field that cuts the 3D model. Foxit PDF Editor displays the two-dimensional field in light blue by default. You can select a different color from the color palette next to the option, or adjust the opacity by inputting a value (or clicking the up/down arrow) in the Cutting Plane Opacity field.
- Ignore Selected Parts: When this option is checked, Foxit PDF Editor will not display the cross-section for the selected parts.
- Show Transparent: Check this option to display the parts that are not part of the cross-section.
- Offset: Define how much of the 3D model is sliced. To change the offset, drag the slider or change the value in the field beside the option.
- Tile 1/Tile 2: Define the angles between the cutting plane and axes. To change the angle, drag the slider or change the value in the field beside the option.
- Flip: Check this option to reverse the cross-section.
- Save Section View: Save the current cross-section view. When you click this option, the View Properties dialog box will pop up for you to select the display settings that can be saved with the cross-section view. The saved view will be named “SectionView [n]” by default, and will be added to the list of views in the 3D toolbar and the View pane of the Model Tree panel.
Tip: The changes to the cross-section properties are applied immediately to the 3D module. If necessary, adjust the Cross Section Properties dialog box appropriately to make sure that it does not block your view of the active 3D model.
