Replace Pages

By Cynthia, 6 December, 2025

You can replace individual pages to quickly update a PDF. The text, images, and comments on the original page will be replaced.

Note: The bookmarks associated with the original pages will be unavailable after the replacement.

Replace Pages using the Replace command

  1. Open the PDF that contains the pages you want to replace and choose OrganizeReplace. (Or right-click the page thumbnails that you want to replace and choose Replace Pages….)
  2. In the Open dialog box, select the file (not limited to PDF format) containing the replacement pages, then click Open. (Tip: In the Open dialog box, you can also click Open from ECM to select a file from ECM systems or cloud services.)
  3. In the pop-up Replace Pages dialog box, from the original PDF file select the pages you want to replace and select replacement pages from the selected file. You can click Browse to change the selected file.
  4. Click OK to finish.

Replace Pages by dragging and dropping page thumbnails in PDFs

  1. Open the PDF that contains the pages you want to replace and the PDF that contains the replacement pages.
  2. In the Pages panel of the PDF that contains the replacement pages, do either of the following to select one or more pages:
  • Drag the mouse to select the page thumbnails.
  • Shift-click or Ctrl-click to select a range of page thumbnails.
  1. Press Ctrl+Alt as you drag the selected pages to the target PDF that contains the pages you want to replace. Release the mouse at the first page thumbnail which will be highlighted with a green box. The replacement pages replace the same number of pages in the target PDF, starting at the first page thumbnail where you drop the mouse. If the pages from this first page thumbnail to the last page (e.g., 4 pages in total) in the target PDF are fewer than the selected replacement pages (e.g., 6 pages), only four pages will be replaced.
