Classify and protect PDFs with sensitivity labels in AIP

By Cynthia, 7 December, 2025

With Foxit PDF Editor, you can classify and protect documents with sensitivity labels configured by the administrator in your organization.

  1. Open your PDF with Foxit PDF Editor.
  2. Click Protect > Sensitivity. (Sign in to your AIP account if you haven’t by clicking Connect to Microsoft Azure Information Protection to get the list of configured sensitivity labels.)

Tip: You can enable Foxit PDF Editor to sync credentials with the Microsoft AIP service if you log in to Foxit PDF Editor using Single Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID, eliminating the need for an additional login when accessing the Microsoft AIP service. To enable this feature, please configure the “Enable Microsoft Sensitivity Labeling Account to sync with Foxit Account” option via GPO or Foxit Customization Wizard. (Available in Subscription Releases)

  3. Select a label from the list to apply to the document.
  4. When the labeling process is complete, the document is saved automatically.

Tip: To apply Microsoft Double Key Encryption (DKE) sensitive labels, ensure the following registry keys and values are defined on client devices:

Location: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Foxit\PDFEditor\RMS\Preferences

Key Name: bEnableDKE

Type: DWORD       Value: 1
