Foxit AI Assistant’s Intelligent Read goes beyond basic text-to-speech. It uses a natural, human-like AI voice to read documents and summaries aloud and turns content into a two-person podcast-style conversation, making it easier to absorb information while multitasking or resting your eyes. It also helps repurpose written content into accessible audio, offering a faster, more engaging way to consume documents.
To use this feature, follow these steps (based on the AI Assistant within Foxit PDF Editor Cloud):
Open the document in Foxit PDF Editor Cloud.
Click AI Assistant on the ribbon and choose Intelligent Read to open the dropdown menu.
Choose a reading option from the menu:
Read Summary: Listen to a brief audio summary highlighting the key points of the document.
Smart Podcast: Hear a two-person conversation providing an overview of the document.
Read the Full Text: Have the entire document read aloud from start to finish.
Read From Current Page: Start reading aloud from the current page onward.
After you choose an option, the Reading Bar appears at the top of the document pane. You can set the voice and speed of the reading on the Reading Bar. The bar also includes buttons to play/pause the reading and rewind/fast-forward by 10 seconds.
For Read Summary and Smart Podcast, click View Transcription to open the Transcription panel on the right and view the subtitle text of the voice.
You can click the icon
on the Reading Bar to close it and stop the reading process.
